Grocery store price tracker

It's not just eggs! Maybe it's just me, but grocery prices seem like they've been high for a while now. To see how prices fluctuate over time and among stores, I'm going to track them. The charts show prices of 15 items from Phoenix area Fry's, Safeway and Walmart stores, and are updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Read the methodology to see the products I'm tracking.

Methodology

• I'm using the stores' app or website to get the prices.
• I'm using the listed price, which is sometimes the loyalty card price (I figure most people use loyalty cards).
• I'm not using a coupon price if the app shows a coupon is available.
• These are the products I'm tracking:
  • Eggs: Store brand large white grade A eggs, 12 count
  • Milk: Store brand 2% milk, gallon
  • Butter: Land O Lakes Salted Stick Butter, 16 oz. (4 sticks)
  • Cheese: Store brand sharp cheddar cheese, 8 oz. block
  • Ice cream: Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream, 1.5 quart
  • Bread: Nature's Own Honey Wheat Sandwich Bread, 20 oz.
  • Cereal: Cheerios, 8.9 oz.
  • Chips: Tostitos Original Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips, 12 oz.
  • Orange juice: Tropicana Pure Premium 100% Orange Juice Original, No Pulp, No Sugar Added, 46 oz.
  • Coffee: Folgers Classic Roast Ground Coffee, 25.9 oz.
  • Soda: Coca-Cola Classic, 12 oz. cans, 12-pack
  • Hamburger meat: Store brand 80%/20% ground beef, 1 lb. tray
  • Chicken: Store brand boneless, skinless chicken breasts, per pound
  • Bananas: Bananas, per pound
  • Onions: Yellow onions, 3 lb. bag
